R53 - Cruise control blink

16 mar 2021, 16:04

Hi everyone,

I am new here and have just recently purchased a 2005 R53 Cooper S.

I have a question regarding the cruise control. When i try activate it the light in the rev counter blinks twice.

I have searched around on many forums looking for solutions.

What i have done
- disconnect battery - doesnt work
- Reset ECU - doesnt work
- Cleaned brake switch - doesnt work
- brake lights work fine

I tried to locate the clutch switch/sensor however i do not see any wiring leading to the clutch cylinder. Any recommendations ?

I will try anything at this point.

Thanks
Chris

Have you tried reading the fault codes in the BCU or ECU?

Which clutch cylinder did you check for the sensor? The one at the gearbox, or the one at the clutchpedal?
The switch should be on the one at the clutchpedal.

I do not have that sensor on my mini, and there is no wiring for it either
