Hi all,

I wanted to ask for your advice.

I found a Cooper SD F56 I wanna buy.
I have only one doubt as the model has 18 inch tyres, Pirelli Cinturato 205/40/R18 86W.

I currently have a Cooper R56 model (from year 2011) and I find it too bumpy on the 16" standard wheels.

I know that the new F56 are less bumpy, however because of the 18" wheels it might be more bumpy again..

Unfortunately, I cannot take the car for a test-drive.

Do you think it is significantly bumpier because of the 18" wheels?

better maybe would be 17", i just changed back from 16 " winter to 18" summer wheels, its a big improvement in my opinion. steering is more direct, smooth as silk on highway, and i have runflats, many dont like them, i dont share the objections many have..

i dont want to invest in other wheels, but if i were going to i would go back to 17", for me the nicest ride, saving my money for fully loaded F56 automatic.

In General... how bigger the wheel the less tyre hight for a type of car which decreases flexibility. But that is something you probably knew. My 18" rims are runflats and this will make the ride harder. More or less Bumpy is relative. I don't mind a hard ride and love the kart feeling in sports mode with adaptive spring.

The car was actually sold to someone else..
However, there's another one now and they offer to replace the 18' wheels with 17' wheels. I think I'm gonna do that, if I will go for that car..
