Supersprint Manifold & Supersprint Sports Cat

Planning to get the Supersprint Manifold and was wondering the following:

If i want to keep my OEM Cat, it has to be choped to be welded to the new Supersprint Manifold, right?

My idea it to get more power from Low/mid range, and smoother revs through the range.

But would not want to chop everything up, having to buy another OEM Cat if i want to return to stock mode again.

With the Supersprint Manifold and the Supersprint Sports Cat, do you think it will bolt on to my JCW Cat back without choping?

I can't get the info of how many cells does the Supersprint Sports cat have, but with this scenario, do you think i will have exhaust lights on the dash? or even problems with the back mufflers, due to extra heat?

Thank you all.

I have fitted a suprsprint header and a sportcat, 200 cells, it needed cutting and welding to fit with the jcw exhaust but was worth it. The sportcat form supersprint costs 1700 euro,'s i bought a universal one for 200 euro,s (nltuning.nl), capable of 500 bhp. some work to fit. The supersprint is easier to fit. absolutely perfect sound i have now.

Rob

I'd just get an OBX manifold (it's a Supersprint-copy) and find a used manifold to reuse the OEM cat from. That's what I'm gonna do...

The OEM cat is actually quite good on higher performance MINI's, a lot of sportcats start to go after just a couple of months.

Hi Martin, i can get the Supersprint with a great dicount, and it is much better made than the obx.
With taxes, the obx can be aroud 600 euros here in Portugal.

Sure the Supersprint cat is very expensive ( round 1000 euros), but that is really teh question.. If i can get both the header and cat, if i'll get any lights on my dash, and if they are a bolt on solution ready to go, with my jcw cat back and muflers from my GP.

General consensus is that the Janspeed is more geared towards the topend whereas the Supersprint (/OBX) is better in the midrange. I doubt that the differences are very big, both are a nice improvement over the short OEM header with its precat.

Precisely, although Mini Challenge r53's all use a 4-2-1 header.

Knowing that the Supersprint header plus the Supersprint Sports Cat all bolt without chopping to my JCW back system, the only concern now is the EMl lights on the dash. :?

AFAIK you'll only get the light if you run it catless...

And how many sensors you have left Rob? Did you moved them a litle further back?

Franklyn85, how did you solve that matter?

3 sensors:
- 1 in the header
- 2 in the cat,one in the front and one in the back, for the AFR.

A good friend fitted the header and cat, a first class mecanic.

Thanks Rob.

The Header and the Cat are both ordered, let's see what this will bring!
