Today I'm going to introduce you my mcs_jcw:








Modifications:

1- Handling:
· KW V2 suspension with Vorshlag camber plates and Hotschkins Sport rear control arms.
· JCW front strut bar.
· OMP lower front strut bar.
· R52 Convertible front bars.
· R56 Brembo JCW brake kit with black Goodridge braided hoses and Motul RBF 600 brake fluid.
· KAVS Front Arm Spacers.


2- Engine:
· ITG foam filter within JCW intake Ref.:BH-225
· Mini GP intercooler.
· KMT -15% pulley.
· NGK Iridium spark plugs. Ref.: BKR7EIX
· Mini Motorsport UK remap: Stage2 JCW 225hp
· Alta tensioner stop
· M7 Air plate diverter
· Lightweight gel battery
· Custom exhaust
· 4-2-1 Mini Challenge manifold + high flow cat

3- Inner mods:
· Matte black rings.
· JCW Carbon dashboard
· Craven shift cover.
· Carbon downtubes.
· Glove box deletion instead Mini One trays.
· Harnesses
· Sabelt driver bucket seat
· JCW fabric co-driver seat


4- Outer mods:
· Braid Winrace A rims
· M7 front lower mesh
· Black belt line
· Head lights, petrol cap and door handles wrapped in carbon vynil
· Mini GP black protector decal
· Mini GP replica spoiler
· Rear wiper deleted
· Mini Challenge brake ducts

Thanks for your comments. In my opinion, the first thing to do is improve handling on an R53. Then get more power.

I'm managing to get the Stage 2 JCW with around 225hp and that will be the top mods in the engine.

As regards, interior I'm looking for a 3 pieces carbon fiber dash board. And probably no more interior mods.

And for the outlook, I'll just be changing soon the rims and I'll add mesh to the rear bumper and, maybe, brake ducts to the front bumper.

When all that will be done, I'll substitute the carbon wrapped parts for carbon ones, too.

Too bad that Spain doesn't legalise that many mods. If rollcages are prohibited from road-legal, is an engine swap or replacing turbocharges allowed?


I see the R52 Convertible front bars listed in your introduction/modlist. Could you explain what this is? Since you also wrote about the upper and lower strutbar separately, this is something different?

Yes, it's a real pity there are such strict modification regulations here. It is unthinkable to do an engine swap or do any big engine change. You can do it as long as it is not visible, and don't increases too much the CO2 limits.

As for the cabrio front bars, well I added them because the front of the R53 are a bit wobbly so anything that makes it more rigid is welcome. That's why I decided to add these cabrio bars.

Marcel, you having a cabrio got them because of that, to make your front more rigid, so if you don't have the upper or lower front bars, I really recommend you to do it.
