Marks 1996 Rover Mini Mayfair Restoration
Geplaatst: 10 feb 2012, 21:37
thought id share this with you all
I bought this mini in the autumn of 2006 and restored it over the winter and had it onto the road again mid 2007
Before

i ordered quite a few new parts for the car

i got a set of proper rover 4.5x12" alloys for the car, these were optional when the mayfair was being built, i just wanted the proper rover ones for some reason!
i got them refurbed

when i finally got the engine running after fitting the new fuel pump there was an awful rattling noise coming from the engine,
it turned out that the car had either been run with little or no oil, the wrong oil or horsed from cold and had scored the crank which had destroyed the bearings, causing the rattle:
so i left the car out to a mates house to be fixed

time to rebuild:

theres finally some light at the end of the tunnel!!
also now suitably shod with some decent rubber

engine back in at the start of december i think, cant remember
my dad (left) and Davy Woods (right) who did the rebuild for me
heres the pics of her in the body shop

and with a lick of paint:

rebuild time:

Complete:
