BMW has announced that it has developed a system that can give its diesel models a V8 sound. the new gizmo can fool the driver by emitting various engine noises, one of which is a V8. Currently, their testing the new system on a Mini Clubman and on a 635d. The journalists from Autocar have tested the Mini Clubman with the V8 sound and they were quite impressed.

The company's new system is called Active Sound Design and uses the car's sound system to emit the various noises. Apart from this system, for the full effect, the car must also be quipped with a special engine cover that reduces it's noise perceived from inside the cabin.

We're wondering if this is really a good feeling,
when hearing the roar of the V8, while the car doesn't go anywhere faster.

Nu nog een soort anti-geluid voor de ruitenwissers en je hoort het motorgeluid nog beter....

Niks nieuws, ze hadden ook al iets ontwikkeld dat een R56 S als een dieselmotor kan klinken.

Tja, ik weet niet wat ik er van moet vinden, maar ik denk toch dat ik het ga plaatsen in de "M3" logos plakken op een BMW die geen M3 is.

Het klinkt misschien leuk, maar je rijdt geen V8....

Moet iedereen voor zichzelf beslissen natuurlijk, maar, nee, ik ben er niet dol op
