MINI at the 2006 Motor Show

MINI UK has announced that it will be at the 2006 British International Motor Show - back in London after a thirty-year absence.

Taking place in July 2006 at the 100-acre ExCel site, in London?s docklands, MINI UK will now start planning their ?show?.

Andy Hearn, General Manager of MINI UK, said: ?I?m delighted that we?ll be at the 2006 show. MINI has been at every British motor show since the car?s launch in 2001 and was awarded ?Car of the Show? in Birmingham in 2004. I can guarantee that we?ll be having lots of fun and we?re looking forward to meeting up with lots of visitors and MINI owners again?.

Organised by The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, the first motor show took place at Crystal Palace in 1903. From 1937 to 1976 it was held at Earls Court before moving to the NEC in Birmingham in 1978. The British International Motor Show has taken place every other year since then in Birmingham, with the last show in May 2004
